ABOUT ME
Jennifer Yoshimura is a midwest-based photographer and illustrator. Visual art has been an important part of her life since childhood.
She focuses her photography work on small moments of light and life through her travels around the world and in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. Her style is characterized by vivid colors, deep shadows, and shallow depth of field. She works to keep her street photography subjects anonymous, playing with angles and timing.
Her portrait illustrations use line work and hatching to bring depth and detail to the emotions she portrays. Her style was developed for years using pen and paper. She has most recently made her works with silk screen printing and water based inks.
